The team of the MetPhil project (Croatian Science Foundation IP-2022-10-2550) organized a visiting lecture held by Prof. dr. sc. Gerhard Schurz<\/strong> from Heinrich Heine University, D\u00fcsseldorf, Germany<\/strong>. The workshop was held on the 27.2.2025. The title of the visiting lecture was \u201cInductive Metaphysics and its Abductive Methodology<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this visiting lecture Gerhard Schurz tried to elaborate a new understanding of the methodology of metaphysics. We can situate this new understanding of metaphysics within the framework of what is called Inductive Metaphysics<\/em> (IM). IM proposes an interesting framework for conducting metaphysical inquiry because it aims at an a posteriori justification of metaphysical claims. Such a justification is based on ampliative induction, in particular abductive inferences from empirical data. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second part of the talk was dedicated to a Q&A session where the audience presented their questions and comments to the author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
