Members of the MetPhil research group attended the 50th annual meeting of the Philosophy of Science conference at the Inter University Centre (IUC) Dubrovnik. Philosophers from various different institutions gathered to discuss the two main scientific topics, which were (1) Philosophy of Science: yesterday, today, tomorrow, and (2) Philosophy of Biology.
Members of the MetPhil project group participated in the following capacities: Vito Balorda gave a talk titled “Causal-explanatory Structures in Biology: Mechanisms vs. Pathways”, while Boran Berčić delivered a talk about on founder of the conference, Ivan Supek, as part of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the conference.
