    Analytic Philosophy – Date and Location: 9 to 13 June 2025, Dubrovnik

    Members of the MetPhil research group attended two conference at the Inter University Center Dubrovnik: “Metaphysics” and “Analytic Philosophy”. The “Metaphysics” conference was dedicated to central issues in contemporary metaphysics (such as the nature of existence, realism and nominalism about the universals, problems of metametaphysics etc.) while “Analytic Philosophy” was dedicated to the notion of Open Texture as introduced by Friedrich Waismann.

    Members of the MetPhil project group gave the following talks:

    • Boran Berčić: “Cracks in the Being” (Metaphysics and Analytic Philosophy)
    • Ljudevit Hanžek: “Causation and Counsciousness” (Metaphysics)
    • Andrej Jandrić: “Three Readings of the Package Deal Account of Laws” (Metaphysics) and “The Roles of Open Texture in Waismann and Wittgenstein” (Analytic Philosophy)
    • Vito Balorda: “The One Over Many Argument as Explanatory Unification” (Metaphysics) and “Life and Mechanism Between Vagueness and Open Texture” (Metaphysics and Analytic Philosophy, with Aleksandar Božić)
