Workshop 13 of the MetPhil project

On Thursday 30.10.2025. the MetPhil project team organized the thirteenth workshop in the series. The topic of this workshop was a talk given by Justin Weinberg titled “Artificial Philosophy”.

In the first part of the workshop Weinberg delivered a talk in which he reflected on the possibility that artificial intelligence might one day be able to give an answer to big philosophical questions. Then considered the following question: what does reflection on this possibility, and our reaction to it, tell us about the aims of philosophy?

The second part of the talk was dedicated to a Q&A session where the audience presented their questions and comments to the author.

This workshop has advanced the goals outlined by the project by strengthening international research links, reflecting upon philosophical methodology, its goals and aims, the role that artificial intelligence might play in future philosophizing, considering the reactions of individual philosophers regarding this possibility etc.

The minutes of this workshop are attached below.
